Time trialling

For many cyclists their first races are against the clock time trials, and Medway Velo has a strong tradition of racing in the many time trials organised throughout the year in Kent.

As we are affiliated to Cycling Time Trials (CTT) and the Kent Cycling Association members have a wide range of events to race in during the year.

Medway Velo is organising two open time trials and, in most years, a series of club events during the year, and our Wednesday night events on the first Wednesday of the month in May, June, July, and August are also ‘come and try it’ events where those who are not members of CTT affiliated clubs can try a race before joining a cycling club. No time trial specific equipment, or a racing licence, are required to take part in these events.

The club events also form a hotly contested points competition with awards made each year to the highest scoring male and female riders.

Our two open events are a short distance 10 mile event organised in May, and a 25 mile event a week or two later.

Many members also look to give something back to the sport by helping out as marshals at our events.
