Following the 2012 Olympics and the success of the British team, track racing has grown in popularity.

Velo members train and compete at a number of tracks, as well as taking part in grass track, where school sports day meets intense competition.

Over the winter months our riders take part in the Track League at Lee Valley Velodrome, whilst in the spring and summer we race at Herne Hill Velodrome, competing in open events, and the Veterans League for riders over 40.

During the summer grass track events happen, still on fixed gear bikes, but with wider off road tyres to ensure grip.

Since 2017 the club has organised a grass track event, including a round of the National 8km league, as well as the unique spectacle of a grass track madison, all to a soundtrack of music inspired by trips to Belgian six days.

The club intends to promote its grass track event once it’s finds a suitable venue.
